MDA Privacy Policy

For the MDA Discord bot, dashboard, appeals system and public site.

Effective date: September 1, 2026

MDA runs pickup matches and tournaments for Murder Duels, records their results, and publishes a competitive record. This policy explains what it stores, why, how long it keeps it, and what you can have removed.

What MDA Accesses

Through Discord's API, MDA accesses only what the features in use require:

MDA does not join voice channels and does not process voice or audio of any kind.

What MDA Stores

On its own server, in a private database:

Result Screenshots

This one is worth reading properly. When a screenshot is submitted as proof of a result, MDA copies the image file into a private Discord channel that MDA controls, and stores a reference to that copy rather than to your original message.

That means the image survives you deleting your own message. It is kept that way on purpose, because a result whose evidence disappears cannot be reviewed or appealed later.

If you want a screenshot removed, ask using the contact below. It will be removed unless it is evidence in an open dispute.

What Is Public

MDA's website is a search tool. Matches, results, rosters, standings and player pages are visible to anyone on the internet, not only to members of the Discord server the match was played in. That includes your Discord username, any game username you have linked, and your match history.

If you do not want that to be public, do not link a game account and do not enter matches.

Linked Game Accounts

Linking a game username creates a public association between your Discord account and your game account. It is optional, you supply it yourself, and you can ask for it to be removed.

How Information Is Used

Only to run the service: opening and filling matches, recording and confirming results, building standings and player pages, handling blacklists and appeals, showing staff what actually happened when something is disputed, and letting staff configure their own server.

MDA does not sell data, does not use it for advertising, and does not profile anyone for any purpose outside the competitive record.

Sharing

Data is not sold, rented or shared for marketing. It reaches only:

Where It Is Stored

On a private server located in the United States, reachable only over HTTPS and an authenticated SSH connection.

Retention

On request, your player row and your linked game username can be removed. Matches you played in may be anonymised rather than deleted, because deleting a match outright would falsify the record of everyone else who played in it.

Security

Services listen only on the machine itself and are reached through a web server over HTTPS. Dashboard access uses Discord sign in with per-role permissions, and a route that has not been explicitly granted is refused rather than allowed. No system is perfectly secure, and no guarantee is made.

Your Choices and Data Requests

You can ask for a copy of what is stored about you, correction of a linked username, removal of a linked username or a screenshot, or deletion where deletion would not falsify another player's record.

To make a request, join the MDA support server, or contact the MDA operator on Discord.

Children

MDA is intended for Discord users and servers that comply with Discord's Terms of Service, including Discord's age requirements. MDA is not directed to children under the minimum age required to use Discord.

Changes

This policy may be updated as MDA changes. The effective date above will be updated when a material change is made.
